Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask Review

Having had PC issues, I was not able to post anything on my blog for a while but I am back now…apologies. I am hoping to do a lot of regular posts now.

Todays product is the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask. I was very keen to try this after watching ViviannaDoesMakeup rave about it on her videos but at that time it was only available in the U.S. However, when I saw that Cult Beauty launched it then I knew I had to have it and parted with my pennies within minutes of hearing about it on twitter.

I will start by describing my skin. I have fairly dehydrated skin with congestion on the nose and chin areas…I know, I know – I sound dreamy. I tend to like natural products because I just don’t warm to chemicals and such. But I had a good feeling about this one so thought I would give it a try.

I love a face mask because my skin attracts more dirt and gunk than is normal and I tend to use a mask a couple of times a week to draw out the impurities and make me feel like I have done something good for my skin. My beauty cupboard holds these in the double figures now so one thing I do know about is face masks. I may buy a lot of them but I don’t fall in love easily. This is a reason I don’t buy into the Glam Glow hype. I have bought it but in my opinion, it is not worth the price tag. I have posted a mini review on my Instagram page regarding this. However, every so often, a product pops up that makes me sit up and this is one I HAD to talk about.

I still remember getting this in the post and rushing off excitedly to try it. I remember the glee I felt. I had some makeup on so I cleansed and applied this on to my happy little face. It smelt a bit like acidic gingerbread(?!) and you only leave it on for 3-7 minutes depending on your skin sensitivity. Initially I thought it was stinging like a mother and I was envisaging my skin peeling like some horror film (I can be a bit dramatic) but honestly, after about 10 seconds, I didn’t even feel it on my skin. I flicked through a magazine and waited with anticipation.

The yays.

Wow. It rinsed off easily and from the first use, my skin looked SOOO much brighter, smoother and clearer. I have mild scarring from the “good old days” when I had acne and my skin feels a little bumpy but this just smoothed it all out considerably. It felt like it had just gobbled up all the dead skin cells from my skin and then polished it. I have tried it twice since then and I am in love because it improves it each time. This is a wonder product. I only use it once a week on a Sunday and then a clay mask when I go in for my mid week deep cleanse. I might up it to twice a week but for now I am happy with this routine.

The nays

Only cons are the smell (which I didn’t mind too much) and the slight tingling on the skin which may not be suitable for sensitive skins but my skin can be sensitive and it worked well for me. Just grin and bear it. Also, it costs just under £40 which is a lot of money but I would say it is an investment. This mask will last ages and transform your skin. I wholeheartedly recommend it. Buy it.

Sachajuan Hair Repair Review

Sachajuan Hair Repair Review

Hello again!

I don’t ask for a lot from a conditioner. Make my hair soft and I’m happy. But lately, due to a combo of the cold weather, my laziness, and eating mince pies for breakfast every day in December (I regret nothing), it is looking rather lacklustre.

My hair

My hair is long, thick and has a slight wave. It is also dry, can lack shine and is prone to split ends. I wash it once a week which I get away with because I don’t use styling products. Just the little blob of Frizz Ease when its dripping wet and that’s me done. Pretty low maintenance.I normally use Aussie Miracle Moist shampoo and their 3 minute Miracle (you know the one) and it works but when I noticed that it wasn’t making a difference, I decided to venture out my comfort zone and try something new.

Sachajuan Hair Repair – what is it?

Sachajuan Hair Repair - £23 (250 ml)

“Lock out frizz with Hair Repair intensive conditioning treatment for dry, brittle and stressed tresses, featuring Sachajuan’s famous ‘broth’ of proteins & mineral extracts from sea algae. It promotes cell regeneration in your scalp encouraging regrowth and nourishes the hair shaft to restore shine and vitality to locks that are looking a little lacklustre. It’s also a brilliant frizz tamer and encourages unruly, rebellious hair to bend to your wishes for ease of styling and a glossy swoosh.

I struck gold a few weeks ago when I read about Sachajuan Hair Repair – £23 (250 ml) on one of my favourite websites EVER; http://www.cultbeauty.co.uk.

No need to think about it, I was sold, this was bought and it wouldn’t be long until I had the hair of my dreams.

The yays

This is the stuff of dreams. I slathered it on, waited 15 minutes because I like to leave it in longer than it says and I was rewarded with the glossiest hair ever. It was soft and I felt like it had actually fixed something IN my hair rather than just add a glaze. The shine lasted for a few days and it was so so soft and bouncy that I was swishing and flicking it at every opportunity, lapping up the compliments and generally thinking I was a Disney princess. If you have dry hair, or colour your hair a lot then you should get this because it is really really good and I am planning to just stock up next time Cult Beauty has a discount code going on.

The nays

The smell is not great…I just didn’t like it. It is fresh but just not “Aussie/Herbal Essencey” . Also, it is pricey and for £23, you could get a hair trimmed by a junior at some top hairdressers and fix the problem that way. However, if you google it, then I am sure you can get this at a decent price from another website, if not Cult. For dry/coloured/damaged hair, I would highly recommend this.

Good morning all! This is my first blog post and I am just going to dive right in and start blogging…It’s now or never!

A little introduction

Once I am more comfortable with writing, I will introduce myself in more detail but for now, all you need to know is that I am a beauty fanatic/obsessive/hoarder/all the above. I love trying new products and then recommending them to my friends/family so I thought a blog would be a good way to vent out my beauty suggestions/frustrations. I went to University but I always held an interest in beauty so I studied a HNC in Beauty Therapy and my interest has just grown from there. I am applying for various makeup courses this year and just love to learn as much as I can. Anyway, that’s enough about me, LETS TALK BEAUTY!

The Product

I have decided to just add the photo and description I got online for the actual product and then give you my views on it. Hopefully, once I get in the flow of things, I will use my own pictures just to personalise it a bit more.

Ok, the first product I am going to be talking about is the Trilogy Organic Rosehip Oil. I had always been sceptical about face oils but recently, I have noticed a lot of dryness in my skin and decided to venture out of my comfort zone and try it out.

I received a sample of this in my November Birchbox so I probably would not have purchased this if I hadn’t got it through in my box.

Oh. My. Gosh.

This is really a wonder product. It absorbs straight away, leaves no greasy feeling to the skin and immediately I notice a lift in my skin. I used to have acne many many years ago and have some scarring on my cheeks but after using this for just a week, a week..! and I can already see them fading away. Also, my skin tone is more even.

I am going to now purchase a full bottle and think every girl should have this in her beauty wardrobe.
